Christopher Jones's House

Home of the Mayflower's captain before the 1620 voyage

A timber-framed house on King's Head Street where Christopher Jones, captain of the Mayflower, lived before he sailed for Plymouth and then America in 1620. Jones was born in Harwich and married in St Nicholas Church nearby. The house is not open inside, but it is marked and easy to find on a walk through the old town. The church where he was married is a short walk away on Church Street.
