South of the town centre, Stockwood Discovery Centre combines several attractions on one site: a period garden with a formal knot garden, craft galleries, a mosaic art trail, and an impressive collection of horse-drawn vehicles. Entry is free. The gardens are best in summer, and the site is spacious enough to spend a couple of hours. Easiest to reach by bus or taxi from the town centre.
