Rochdale's sights are modest in number but genuine in quality. The cooperative movement museum on Toad Lane tells a story with international resonance, the Victorian town hall is one of the great civic buildings of the north of England, and St Chad's Church on its hill above the town has been a landmark for a thousand years. A few hours is enough to cover all of it comfortably.
