Trains run from London Waterloo to Basingstoke every 10–15 minutes through the day, taking around 45–50 minutes for the fastest services. South Western Railway operates the line, and the same trains continue west to Salisbury and Exeter. Cross Country trains link Basingstoke to Reading, Birmingham and the North.
By car, Basingstoke sits at the junction of the M3 (London to Southampton) and the A33 (Reading), with the A303 west towards Stonehenge and the south-west nearby. The nearest international airports are London Heathrow (about 35 miles, around 50 minutes by car) and Southampton (around 35 miles south).
