Bridgewater Monument

Bridgewater Monument is a neoclassical stone tower built in 1832 to remember the third Duke of Bridgewater, who developed the Bridgewater Canal and once lived at Ashridge House. Visitors can climb the 172 steps for wide views over the surrounding countryside.

The monument is part of an easy Ashridge Estate outing, with woodland walks, open views, and a cafe nearby.
