Getting Around

Central Brighton is compact and walkable. The seafront, The Lanes, North Laine, and the Royal Pavilion gardens form a rough triangle that you can cross in 20 minutes on foot. The train station is a 10-minute walk from the seafront.

Brighton and Hove Buses cover the whole urban area. The seafront is served by the Coastliner route east to Eastbourne and west toward Shoreham. Taxis are plentiful at the station and along the seafront. The city has shared bike docking stations. For the Booth Museum and the Chattri, a bus or taxi is more practical than walking.
