RHS Garden Wisley is one of the great garden visits in southeast England, and it easily justifies the short trip from Guildford. It is not a single formal garden but a large, changing collection of borders, woodland, fruit gardens, trial beds, glasshouses, and carefully staged seasonal displays.
Even non-gardeners tend to find something to like here, because the place is both beautiful and practical. Spring blossom, summer borders, autumn colour, and winter glasshouse warmth all give different reasons to go; allow several hours if you want to wander instead of rushing between highlights.
