Eating Out

Hove has a good independent restaurant scene, clustered around Church Road and Western Road inland from the seafront, and with a few good places directly on the seafront promenade. The area's professional and creative community supports a higher density of quality restaurants than comparable English seaside towns.

The emphasis is on neighbourhood restaurants rather than destination dining — places where locals eat regularly. Reasonable amounts of Turkish, Middle Eastern, and South Asian cooking appear alongside European styles. The bakeries and cafes on Church Road and the surrounding streets do a reliable breakfast and lunch.
