Tom Kerridge's second Marlow pub is the antidote to the months-long wait for a table at The Hand and Flowers. The Coach operates on a no-reservations, first-come-first-served basis, and the food — while simpler — is still seriously good. The menu runs to small plates and bar snacks: think scotch eggs, burgers, fish finger sandwiches, and inventive seasonal dishes that change regularly.
The space is compact and buzzy, with a bar running the length of the room and a handful of tables. Arrive early for lunch or dinner to avoid a wait, especially on weekends. Prices are reasonable for the quality — most dishes are under GBP 15. It is the better option if you want to eat Kerridge's food without the formality or the forward planning.
