Richmond has its own tube station on the District line (Zone 4), with direct trains from central London in around 30 minutes. South Western Railway services from London Waterloo also stop here. The Overground connects Richmond to Clapham Junction and onward. By road, the A316 runs from central London to the Chiswick roundabout and on to Richmond. Kew Gardens is about 15 minutes' walk along the river or one stop by tube.
