The Medieval Merchant's House is one of the earliest surviving merchant houses in England, restored to show how a prosperous Southampton trader might have lived in the mid-14th century. Replica furnishings, timber framing, and domestic rooms make the city's medieval port history easier to picture than the walls alone.
It is a natural add-on to the nearby Tudor House, Holyrood Church, and old town walls. Check opening times before setting out, as small historic houses often keep shorter hours than the larger museums.
