Branksome beach is about a half-hour walk along the promenade from Bournemouth pier. The beach has a restaurant overlooking the sea, toilets, parking, a lifeguard and a roped-off area in summer for safe bathing. It is a popular spot for windsurfers and paddleboarders. When the cold north wind blows, Branksome is a particularly good beach to visit as you are well sheltered by the high cliffs.
