Hawker's Hut is a tiny, weather-beaten shelter on the cliffs near Morwenstow, north of Bude. Built from driftwood and ship timber, it is associated with Robert Stephen Hawker, the eccentric Victorian priest and poet who used the hut as a place to write and watch the sea.
The hut is small enough to disappoint anyone expecting a grand monument, but the walk makes it worthwhile. Cliffs, Atlantic weather, shipwreck stories, and Hawker's strange personality all come together here, giving this stretch of the Cornish coast a memorable literary edge.
