Spinsters' Rock is a small Neolithic chambered tomb near Chagford, standing in a field rather than on a remote moor top. Its three upright stones and capstone are simple, but their survival gives the site a directness that larger, more reconstructed monuments sometimes lose.
It is an easy prehistoric stop if you are exploring northern Dartmoor by car or on foot. The visit is brief, but it adds real depth to a Chagford itinerary built around villages, tors, and moorland walks.
