Bonehill Rocks

Granite tor above Widecombe, popular with walkers, picnickers, and Dartmoor boulderers.

Bonehill Rocks is one of the easiest Dartmoor tors to enjoy from Widecombe: a cluster of weathered granite outcrops rising above the East Webburn valley, with open views back across the moor. The rocks sit close to small parking areas, so even a short walk gives a strong sense of the high, exposed Dartmoor landscape.

Climbers know Bonehill as a major bouldering spot, with problems scattered across the granite faces. Non-climbers come for the same setting at a gentler pace: sheep-grazed moorland, dramatic shapes in the stone, and a fine picnic stop when the weather is kind.
