Tintagel has no railway station. The nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway, about 20 miles southeast, from which a taxi or bus is needed. Bus services from Boscastle, Wadebridge, and other North Cornwall towns connect to Tintagel, but services are infrequent and almost all visitors arrive by car.
By road, Tintagel is reached from the A39 Atlantic Highway, turning onto the B3263 for the final approach. The village has several car parks; the main one fills up quickly in summer, and arriving early or in the late afternoon is advisable to avoid both queues and the peak castle crowds. Camelford, six miles inland, is the nearest town with services. Bude is about 15 miles north.
