Weymouth is on the South Western Railway mainline from London Waterloo, with direct trains taking about two and a half hours. There are also connections from Bristol and Bath via Dorchester. The station is a short walk from the harbour and esplanade.
By car, Weymouth is about 130 miles from London via the A35 and A354. The approach through Dorset on the A35 is pleasant; the A354 from Dorchester into town gets busy in summer. Direct ferry services to the Channel Islands (Jersey and Guernsey) operate seasonally from the harbour.
