Leamington's greatest asset as a base is its central position in the English Midlands. Warwick Castle is two miles away — one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in England and a half-day easily spent. Stratford-upon-Avon is 15 miles south. Coventry, with its extraordinary bombed and rebuilt cathedral, is 12 miles north. Birmingham city centre is 30 minutes by train.
