Stoke-on-Trent railway station is on the West Coast Main Line — about an hour and 25 minutes from London Euston by Avanti West Coast, with departures at least once an hour. Trains continue north to Manchester (40 minutes) and Liverpool (an hour). Cross Country services run east to Derby, Nottingham, and Birmingham (about 50 minutes).
The M6 motorway forms the western edge of the city, with junctions 15 and 16 the most useful. Coach connections via National Express run from London, Birmingham, and Manchester. The nearest airports are Manchester (about 50 minutes by car) and Birmingham (75 minutes). The station building itself — Winton Square — is a Grade II* Jacobean revival group worth a look on arrival.
