Cookstown has a good spread of pubs along and just off its long main street, most of them traditional Northern Irish locals with a mixed clientele of townspeople and farming community from the surrounding countryside. The pub culture is relaxed and unpretentious. Live music sessions appear at weekends in some of the older bars. There are also several coffee shops and tea rooms serving the daytime trade, useful stopping points between visits to the sites in the surrounding area.
