St Eugene's Cathedral is Derry's Roman Catholic cathedral, a pale neo-Gothic church whose spire rises above the Bogside. Built in stages between 1849 and 1903, it is worth stepping inside for the stained glass, stone columns, and the sense of a city landmark paid for by a community that had little money to spare.
