The restaurant at the Fife Lodge Hotel occupies a converted 18th-century manse on the western edge of Banff, set back from the road in its own grounds above the Deveron. It serves a Scottish menu built around local produce — Aberdeen Angus beef, North Sea fish, game in season — and is open seven days for lunch and dinner.
The dining room is unpretentious, the portions generous, and the wine list short but sensible. It's the most consistent option in town for an evening out, popular enough with locals that booking is sensible on weekends.
