Drumnadrochit is 16 miles south of Inverness on the A82. Inverness is the nearest city and has good rail and air connections to the rest of Scotland and the UK. From Inverness, Stagecoach buses run along the A82 to Drumnadrochit roughly every hour, taking about 30 minutes. The service continues south along the loch to Fort Augustus and Fort William.
By car from Inverness, the drive takes about 25 minutes. The A82 along the loch's western shore is a well-maintained single carriageway with some overtaking spots. Those driving down from the north via the Great Glen should allow extra time as the road has little passing room and summer traffic can build up behind slower vehicles.
