Dundee Law

Dundee Law is the eroded plug of a long-extinct volcano, rising 174 metres directly above the city centre and offering the best view in town. On a clear day you can see the silver line of the Firth of Tay, the two great bridges across to Fife, the hills of Angus to the north, and on rare days the snow-line of the Cairngorms inland.

A war memorial topped with a bronze beacon sits at the summit — lit every November on Armistice Sunday and also on key dates in the city's history. It is a steep but short walk from the city centre via Dudhope Park and Law Road; allow twenty to thirty minutes up, less down. There is a small car park at the top for those short on time.
