Ailsa Craig is the pyramid-shaped island that sits west of Girvan in the Firth of Clyde. It is uninhabited, protected as a bird reserve, and famous for the blue hone granite quarried for curling stones. Boat trips from Girvan run around the island and sometimes land there, depending on weather and season.
