Loch Culag

Loch Culag is a small freshwater loch just south of Lochinver village. It drains into Loch Inver by a short river and is surrounded by low, wooded hills that provide a softer contrast to the bare quartzite ridges visible to the east. The loch is a local fishing spot and the birch woodland around it is among the most sheltered walking in the immediate area.

A path runs along the eastern shore and connects with the track toward Inverkirkaig. The combination of the loch, the river, and the wooded slopes makes for a pleasant short walk when the weather is too wild for the higher ground.
