New Aberdour is on the B9031 coast road between Fraserburgh and Banff, about 14 km west of Fraserburgh and 20 km east of Banff. The nearest large town with full services is Fraserburgh. There is no regular bus service to the village; a car is effectively required. The road from Fraserburgh runs through quiet farmland before dropping down to the coast at New Aberdour.
