Dawyck Botanic Garden, near Stobo west of Peebles, is a 65-acre garden run by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. It is especially good for trees: old introductions, rare conifers, woodland walks, burnside paths, and seasonal colour that changes the mood from spring bulbs to autumn leaves.
It is a garden for slow walking rather than formal beds alone. If you like trees, Dawyck is one of the best reasons to spend time in the Peebles area.
