Getting There

By train. Perth station is well served by ScotRail trains from Edinburgh (about 75 minutes), Glasgow (about 60 minutes), and Inverness (about 100 minutes). The line from Edinburgh via the Forth Bridge is particularly scenic. The station is a short walk from the city centre.

By car. Perth sits at the junction of the A9 (Edinburgh to Inverness) and the M90 motorway from Edinburgh. The drive from Edinburgh takes about 45–60 minutes; from Glasgow, about 90 minutes via the M9 and A9. Parking in the city centre is plentiful by Scottish city standards.

By bus. Citylink coaches connect Perth to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and other major Scottish cities. The journey from Edinburgh takes about 75 minutes. Megabus also serves Perth on its main Scottish routes.

There is no airport in Perth — the nearest useful airports are Edinburgh (75 km south) and Inverness (170 km north) for international connections, or Dundee airport for limited domestic services.
