Eshaness Lighthouse and Cliffs

Volcanic Shetland headland cut into cliffs, geos, blowholes, and Atlantic walks

Eshaness is the western edge of Northmavine, where old volcanic rock has been carved into deep geos, sea stacks, blowholes, and cliff paths. The lighthouse car park gives quick access to the best views, so even a short stop can feel dramatic.

Walk the Eshaness circular if the wind allows. The ground is open and exposed, and the Atlantic does most of the storytelling: waves, cliffs, seabirds, and the strange shapes left by lava and storm.
