Scalloway Museum

Village museum with strong Shetland Bus and local history collections

Scalloway Museum sits beside the castle and gives the village its context. Its strongest material covers the Shetland Bus, the dangerous Second World War operation that used small boats to link Shetland with occupied Norway.

The museum also covers Scalloway's older local history, fishing, families, and everyday life. It is small enough to see before or after the castle, and the two sights work much better together than either does alone.
