A long-standing destination restaurant in a converted crofter's cottage at Colbost. Eddie and Shirley Spear opened it in 1985 and turned it into one of the most celebrated restaurants in Scotland; it has been awarded multiple stars and accolades over the decades and is still routinely cited as one of the country's best.
The menu draws heavily on what comes off the boats at Dunvegan and the surrounding crofts — Loch Dunvegan langoustine, Skye lamb, Glendale salad leaves, hand-dived scallops. The tasting menus are expensive and worth booking weeks ahead in summer. The dining room is small and low-beamed; the experience is informal but deliberate.
