Waterstein Head

Waterstein Head is the high sea cliff immediately north of Neist Point, rising 296 metres straight from the Minch. It is the second highest sea cliff on Skye after Biod an Athair, and one of the highest on the British west coast.

The summit is a short, steep walk from the road at Ramasaig — about an hour up across pathless moor. The view from the top is enormous: Neist Point lighthouse far below, the Outer Hebrides to the west, and the long line of Duirinish stretching back towards Dunvegan. It is exposed and weather-dependent, but on a clear day it is one of the finest viewpoints on the island and far quieter than the lighthouse path.
