Calve Island shelters Tobermory Bay and gives the harbour much of its calm shape. The island has no permanent residents, but the waters around it draw boat trips looking for seabirds and seals.
Divers know the area for submerged walls and wrecks. For most visitors, the easier pleasure is to see the island from a boat and watch the village fall back into the bay.
