The whole north Wales coast is within easy reach by train or bicycle. Llandudno, with its Victorian pier and Great Orme tramway, is 10 minutes by rail. Conwy, with its great Edwardian castle and intact medieval walls, is a couple of stops further west. Inland, Snowdonia begins just behind the coast, and Betws-y-Coed in the heart of the national park is 40 minutes by car.
