Eagle Beach

Eagle Beach is consistently rated among the best beaches in the Caribbean, and the rating is deserved. The sand is powdery white, the water is calm and clear turquoise, and the beach is wide enough that it never feels crowded even when the island is at capacity. There are no major high-rise hotels directly on Eagle Beach — the resorts here are smaller and lower — which contributes to its relatively uncrowded feel.

The beach is a short taxi ride or bus journey north of Oranjestad. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for rent from the beach bars, and there are a couple of restaurants nearby. The trade winds keep it comfortable even in the warmest months. It is also one of the places where loggerhead sea turtles nest between April and September.
