Getting There

Queen Beatrix International Airport (IATA: AUA) is 3 kilometres southeast of Oranjestad. There is no public bus from the terminal to the city centre — take a taxi (fixed rate, approximately USD 10–12) or arrange a hotel transfer. The airport is well connected to North America, with direct flights from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, and Toronto. From Europe, KLM flies nonstop from Amsterdam.

Cruise ships dock at the terminal in the centre of Oranjestad, right on the waterfront. The historic district, Fort Zoutman, and the main museums are all within easy walking distance of the pier. Most of the Caribbean's major cruise lines include Aruba in their southern Caribbean itineraries.

There is no ferry service from the Venezuelan mainland currently operating for tourists, though small private boats do cross between the two. Inter-island ferry links to Curaçao and Bonaire exist but are infrequent — flying between the ABC islands is generally faster and easier.
