Wilhelmina Park

Wilhelmina Park is a small seaside park on L.G. Smith Boulevard, just east of the town square, named after Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands who reigned from 1890 to 1948. The park has well-maintained tropical gardens with mature trees providing shade, and a statue of the Queen Mother stands near the waterfront. It is one of the few genuinely green public spaces in the city centre.

The park sits between the main shopping street and the harbour, making it a natural resting point on a walking tour of Oranjestad. In the morning, local residents use it for a stroll or a sit in the shade. In the afternoon, it fills with cruise-ship passengers catching their breath before reboarding. Either way, it offers a pleasant few minutes of calm.
