Saunders Beach

A quiet public beach on West Bay Street between downtown and Cable Beach, popular with Bahamian families on weekends. The water is calm and shallow, the sand fine and white, and there is a small park behind it with shaded picnic tables and basketball courts.

Unlike Cable or Cabbage, Saunders has no resort backdrop — just a row of low-key houses on the inland side. No vendors, no jet-skis. The bus marked Cable Beach passes the entrance; ten minutes by jitney from downtown.
