Barbados is a year-round destination with temperatures hovering between 24°C and 30°C (75–86°F) throughout the year. That said, timing matters.
December to April is peak season. The weather is dry, the trade winds keep things comfortable, and the island is at its liveliest. Expect higher prices and fully booked hotels, especially around Christmas and New Year. Book well in advance.
May and June offer a sweet spot: the peak crowds have thinned, prices drop, and the weather is still mostly dry. April and May are arguably the best months for value.
July to November is hurricane season. Barbados sits at the southern edge of the Caribbean hurricane belt and rarely takes a direct hit — but tropical storms do bring heavy rain and rough seas, especially from August through October. The upside is prices can drop 30–50%, and the island is far less crowded. The Crop Over festival (July–August) is actually one of the best reasons to visit during this period.
If you're coming for Crop Over, aim for Grand Kadooment Day (first Monday in August). For the Oistins Fish Festival, visit over Easter weekend.
