Getting There

By Air

Bermuda is served by L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA), located at the east end of the island near St. George's. There are no direct flights from the airport into Hamilton; taxis and buses cover the roughly 30-minute journey.

US carriers dominate: American Airlines, Delta, United, and JetBlue all fly from multiple East Coast cities. Flights from New York, Boston, and Philadelphia take under two hours. Charlotte and Atlanta are around two and a half hours. Air Canada and WestJet connect Toronto. From the UK, British Airways operates nonstop service from London Gatwick; the flight takes about seven hours. BermudAir, a small Bermuda-based carrier, has added nonstop routes from several US cities including Boston and New York LaGuardia.

The departure tax is included in all ticket prices.

By Sea

Bermuda is a major port of call for cruise ships. Ships dock at three locations: Hamilton, St. George's, and the Royal Naval Dockyard. Most cruise itineraries arrive from the US East Coast (New York, Baltimore, Boston, Cape Liberty) between April and October. The major lines — Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, and MSC — all include Bermuda in their seasonal rosters. Ships typically stay two to three nights, long enough to see the island properly.
