Shopping

Front Street is the main shopping strip, with duty-free stores making the most of Bermuda's relative immunity from UK and US import taxes. A.S. Cooper and Sons (established 1897) is the island's oldest department store, with china, crystal, fragrances, and clothing. Brown and Company on Reid Street is a broad department store. The Clock Tower Mall at Royal Naval Dockyard (accessible by ferry) has boutiques and craft stalls in a handsome Victorian naval building. The Bermuda Arts Centre nearby sells local artists' work.

Duty-free allowances for visitors returning to the US include $800 worth of goods; for UK visitors, the limit is lower. Confirm current allowances before buying.
