Things to Do

Hamilton's main sights are concentrated around the harbour and the hill above it. Fort Hamilton (a 19th-century Victorian fortification with dry moat, gardens, and tunnels) is free to enter and gives good views over the harbour. Sessions House (Parliament, 1819) and the Cabinet Building are on Parliament Street.

The broader Hamilton Parish offers the Crystal Caves — limestone caverns with a pontoon bridge over a deep underground lake — as a natural highlight. The National Museum of Bermuda (Royal Naval Dockyard, accessible by ferry) is the island's largest museum, covering maritime history and the colonial period. The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo at Flatts Village has a world-class living coral reef display.

Front Street itself is worth a walk for the architecture and harbour views; the Wednesday evening Harbour Nights street market (in season, May to October) brings food stalls and live entertainment.
