Muskoseepi Park

Muskoseepi — Cree for "bear creek" — is the long green spine that runs north to south through the centre of Grande Prairie, following Bear Creek for more than 400 hectares. It is the city's signature recreational space, with paved and gravel trails for walking and cycling, a small lake and pavilion at the south end, picnic areas, playgrounds, and outdoor sports facilities scattered along its length.

The park is the obvious place to walk off a long day on the highway. In summer the trails are busy with joggers and families; in winter the same routes are groomed for cross-country skiing, and an outdoor rink and toboggan hill are set up near the pavilion. Several of the city's main attractions — the Grande Prairie Museum, the Heritage Discovery Centre, and the old Reservoir water tower — sit within or alongside the park, making it a natural starting point for exploring the city on foot.
