The Maritime Discovery Centre sits by Harbour Quay and is built from a coastal lighthouse structure, which gives the small museum more character than its size suggests. Exhibits focus on the inlet, coastal navigation, fishing, and the industrial waterfront.
It is best as part of a harbour walk, not as a standalone reason to come to town. Stop in, then linger around the quay to watch how Port Alberni meets the water.
