Tofino's restaurant scene is unexpectedly sophisticated for a town of 2,500 people. The fishing and foraging supply chain is excellent — Dungeness crab, wild salmon, sea urchin, and spot prawns appear on menus throughout town. Several restaurants have attracted serious chefs who came for the wilderness and stayed. Prices are higher than you'd expect, in line with the luxury lodge market that drives much of Tofino's economy.
