Matthew Legacy

Harbourfront museum and replica of John Cabot's ship, built for the 500th anniversary of his voyage.

Matthew Legacy tells the Cabot story through a small museum and a replica of the ship he sailed across the Atlantic. The replica was built in 1997 for the 500th anniversary of the voyage and now sits in dry dock on the inner harbour. The museum is text-heavy, but it pairs well with the lighthouse and gives the town's founding myth a more tangible shape.
