The Haliburton Sculpture Forest is an open-air gallery of around 30 large-scale works set along forest trails on the edge of the Haliburton School of Art and Design's campus. The pieces are by Canadian and international sculptors and range from monumental steel to subtle interventions you almost walk past.
The site is part of Glebe Park, a 100-hectare patch of forest at the south end of town. The main loop takes about an hour at a slow pace; the trails are easy and well marked. Open year-round and free, with paper maps available at the trailhead kiosk. The forest is at its best in autumn — the maples turn before the works are blanketed in November snow.
