Kariya Park is a small formal garden in the middle of Mississauga, named for the city’s sister-city relationship with Kariya, Japan. It is not large, but it is carefully composed: pond, bridges, stones, maples, and seasonal blossoms tucked behind the towers near Square One.
This is a short stop rather than a full outing. It works best if you are already in central Mississauga and want a quiet pause from malls and arterial roads. In spring and autumn the colours make it one of the more photogenic little corners of the city.
