Ottawa's drinking life is concentrated in two places: the ByWard Market for late nights and rowdier crowds, and Elgin Street for a slightly more relaxed mix of pubs, cocktail bars and craft beer rooms. Wellington West, Hintonburg and Westboro are where the better cocktail bars and third-wave coffee shops have opened in the last decade. The city has a small but serious craft beer scene — keep an eye out for local breweries like Beyond the Pale, Dominion City and Beau's.
